چکیده

We employ electric circuit networks to study topological states of matter in non-Hermitian systems enriched by parity-time symmetry $\mathcal{PT}$ and chiral anti-$\mathcal{PT}$ ($\mathcal{APT}$). The structure manifests itself the complex admittance bands which yields excellent measurability signal noise ratio. analyze impact symmetric gain loss on localized edge defect a Su--Schrieffer--Heeger (SSH) circuit. realize all three phases system, including $\mathcal{APT}$ regime that occurs at large loss. measure spectrum eigenstates for arbitrary boundary conditions, allows us resolve not only states, but also novel $\mathbb{Z}_2$ invariant bulk. discover distinct properties phase diagram. In is symmetric, state disappears reemerges when reached, while always prevail experience shift eigenvalue. Our findings unveil future route engineering tuning dimension.

Topological interface engineering and defect crossing in ultracold atomic gases.

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme for topological interface engineering and show how it can be used for studies of dynamics of topologically nontrivial interfaces and perforation of defects and textures across such interfaces. The method makes use of the internal spin structure of the atoms together with locally applied control of interaction strengths to create many-particle states ...

Spherical-separablility of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians and pseudo-PT -symmetry

Non-Hermitian but PφTφ-symmetrized spherically-separable Dirac and Schrödinger Hamiltonians are considered. It is observed that the descendant Hamiltonians Hr, Hθ, and Hφ play essential roles and offer some ”user-feriendly” options as to which one (or ones) of them is (or are) nonHermitian. Considering a PφTφ-symmetrized Hφ, we have shown that the conventional Dirac (relativistic) and Schröding...

Topological transition in a non-Hermitian quantum walk.

We analyze a quantum walk on a bipartite one-dimensional lattice, in which the particle can decay whenever it visits one of the two sublattices. The corresponding non-Hermitian tight-binding problem with a complex potential for the decaying sites exhibits two different phases, distinguished by a winding number defined in terms of the Bloch eigenstates in the Brillouin zone. We find that the mea...

Topologically Protected Defect States in Open Photonic Systems with Non-Hermitian Charge-Conjugation and Parity-Time Symmetry.

We show that topologically protected defect states can exist in open (leaky or lossy) systems even when these systems are topologically trivial in the closed limit. The states appear from within the continuum, thus in the absence of a band gap, and are generated via exceptional points (a spectral transition that occurs in open wave and quantum systems with a generalized time-reversal symmetry),...

Real Spectra in Non-Hermitian Hamiltonians Having P T Symmetry

The condition of self-adjointness ensures that the eigenvalues of a Hamiltonian are real and bounded below. Replacing this condition by the weaker condition of P T symmetry, one obtains new infinite classes of complex Hamiltonians whose spectra are also real and positive. These P T symmetric theories may be viewed as analytic continuations of conventional theories from real to complex phase spa...
